History
Established in 1974 by brothers Richard and Stephen Farrar, Lincoln Security remains to this day a family controlled business.
The company began as the Lincoln Security Centre, initially offering key cutting and lock sales before adding an installation service. In 1981, both Richard and Stephen became members of the Master Locksmith Association and began to specialise in safe opening.
After a time, Lincoln Security spotted a gap in the local market for ironmongery and took on an employee to expand this retail area.
Two years later, Lincoln Security gained two large contracts for the supply and installation of specialised locking systems with Anglian Water and the Environment Agency. In 1987, Lincoln Security became a Limited Company.
Richard and Stephen expanded their premises and, in 1989, undertook a major refurbishment, creating the showrooms and offices as they stand today.
The company’s diversification into access control gained two new clients, Britannia Airways and the National Grid, which remains today one of Lincoln Security’s biggest clients.
Access control systems are also supplied and maintained to properties belonging to Lincoln City Council and Lincolnshire County Council. This contract ranges from simple key cutting to the installation of complete door sets and long term maintenance on all Access Control and Intercom Systems.
More recently Lincoln Security clients have included Yorkshire Water, Northern Ireland Electricity, Anglian Water and Welsh Water.
In 2004, Lincoln Security formed Lincoln Security Alarms Limited to supply and maintain intruder, fire and CCTV systems and is registered in its own right under SSAIB.
