State of the art solution secures data centre

Centrinet logoWhen computer systems security company Centrinet Ltd relocated to a remote ex-NATO nuclear bunker, they needed to employ a security company that could deliver the expert standard of security needed to protect their high-tech hosting services.

The 30,000 square foot windowless bunker, which was constructed nearly 60 years ago to house government officials during the Cold War, has been transformed into a world-class data centre, providing hosting services to over 24,000 supported users across 70 countries.

Lincoln Security Director Rick Farrar, said: “We’ve worked with Centrinet for a number of years and were called in to develop a state-of-the-art access control as well as installing CCTV, electrical locking systems and architectural ironmongery throughout the building.”

Lincoln Security provided a bespoke access system, that included a fully monitored, high-tech card and pin reader, located at strategic points throughout the bunker and at every data suite entrance. Because of the sensitive nature of the data housed in the bunker, it has at least eight layers of controlled access to pass through before gaining access to the data suites.
