Despite the fact that garages and sheds not only contain valuable equipment, but also contain tools that can be used to break into your home. Security statistics tell us that burglars use ladders and tools lying around in your garden to break in!

Place security measures around the outside of your home to deter burglars from targeting your home, this includes motion sensor lights, trimming hedges, having stones leading up to your home instead of a pathway – this way you can hear if someone is on your drive!
Extend your alarm system to the garage and shed, or invest in a battery operated alarm system. Some will even notify and send you a photo to your mobile if your garage and shed gets broken into!
Go the extra mile and chain items such as lawnmowers, bikes, and expensive items to ground anchors which makes it even harder for the thieves to get away with your items.
Also remember to put the garage and shed on your household insurance…
