Apprentice Fire & Security Engineer
Lincoln Security is seeking an Apprentice full-time Installation, Maintenance and Servicing Engineer for our Electronic Security Systems Team.
– Key Points –
Location:
Operated out of our Whisby Way, Lincoln Office, which you will have to visit when required. Travelling predominantly in East Midlands and surrounding areas, but further may be required.
Salary:
£6.40 – 11.44 per hour starting, but could increase based on experience

As an Apprentice in the Electronic Security Team you will be:
- Leaning how to install CCTV systems to the current regulations.
- Learn how to program a CCTV system and ensure its fully functional.
- Understanding the concept or I.P systems and how to program the accordingly using a laptop or PC.
- Learning how to connect CCTV systems remotely so the end user is able to connect in via an APP or PC.
- Learning how to service CCTV systems and make note of readings
- Understanding the different types of cameras available to us and their advantages and disadvantages.
- Learn how to install HDD (Hard Disc Drives) correctly and format them.
- Leaning the programming of a CCTV system this will include using different types of analytics within the system to trigger events.
- Understanding the different type of connectors used within CCTV Systems and how they are installed correctly.
- Complete paperwork correctly and ensure it is handed in on time.
- Being able to communicate with the office and customers effectively and relay information accordingly.
- Learn how to design an effective CCTV system.
- Have the ability to confidently, provide a demonstration to customers on how to use their system.
- Learn how to identify faults and issues with a CCTV system and resolve them.
- Learn how to install containment correctly and neatly.
- Learning the fundamentals of Fire Alarm Safety Systems and how effective they can be.
- Learning how to install Fire Alarm systems to the current regulations.
- Understanding different types of fire alarm systems and how they can be implemented within a premises.
- Learning how to test Fire Alarm systems in accordance with the current regulations using the correct tools and testing equipment provided by the company.
- Learn how to identify faults and occurrences with fire systems and what can be done to prevent/resolve issues.
- Learn and understand how to install and terminate devices correctly and efficiently.
- Learn how to program a Fire system in accordance with the regulations.
- Being able to communicate with office staff and customers effectively and relay information accordingly.
- Learn how to install containment correctly and neatly.
- Understand different types of products available to use within the Fire Industry.
- Learn how to connect a Fire Alarm system to a monitoring centre.
- Learn the basic concept into designing a Fire Alarm system.
- Learning how to confidently connect into Low Voltage Mains Supply (240v) using safe isolation techniques, you will be expected to carry out an intensive course before you can independently carry out this task by yourself.
- Use ladders safely, This will require you to attend ladder training before you can use ladders.
- Wear the correct PPE at all times when required to do so.
- Achieve a pass on your initial safety passport. This is vital for you to carry out your role safely and grants you access to certain sites.
- Maintain tools and companies vehicles at all times. It is essential that vehicles, tools and equipment are maintained to a high standard.
- Ensure cleanliness and organization around the workplace. This might include ensuring the store room is in good order or rubbish is kept to a minimum in the workplace yard.
- Carrying out tasks on the Access Control department and gaining knowledge and understanding in Access Control systems.
- Completing course work that has been assigned to you by the college. Ensuring it is handed in on time and completed to good standards.
- Any duties that are required of you by the office administration team.
