Security In Cognito

Case Studies

Cognito

This project saw the full installation of a bespoke security system for Lincoln’s hottest new bar and restaurant ‘Cognito’.

The system, which includes CCTV, Intruder & Fire Alarms & Access Control was designed for the venue by our Electronic Security Manager & Commercial Director. In addition to the new security system, a pair of safes was found in the basement which were brought back into working condition.

The solution included:

  • A 15 camera CCTV system
  • An Intruder Alarm system comprising of over 30 sensors and detectors
  • A Fire Alarm system with 20 smoke detectors and 15 accompanying sounder bases all linking back to a 2 loop addressable fire alarm panel
  • Almost 2 kilometres of cabling

Richard Goodall, Lincoln Security’s Electronic Security Systems Manager said

“The CCTV and Alarm systems had to comply with the requirements of the customer as well as requirements for the police and licensing laws. At the same time taking into consideration future proofing the systems to enable the systems to expand as and when Cognito expands,”

Ellie Pickles, Cognito Restaurant and Bar Owner said;

“The engineers on site have been brilliant, very flexible with our everchanging demands. The quality of products are great and very easy to use. Couldn’t recommend the team more”

The Access Control system runs behind the scenes and allows all staff members to enter via a fob access system at the rear of the property, on the inside the door is fitted with an electronic latch retraction crash bar to maintain fire emergency exit standards.

In addition, the two cellar doors have been fitted with PAX lock wireless handle sets all integrated on the Paxton Net 2 system running off the same fobs. The system allows employees to move freely within the restricted areas of the building, needing only their fob on them.
